According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, rates of productivity in the United States have been underwhelming in recent years. In fact, our current business cycle shows a growth rate that is notably lower when compared with the rates of all ten business cycles since 1947.1 When we consider how quickly technology has evolved over the last decade, this seems surprising—isn’t technology supposed to make us more productive?
