Owen provides strategic advice regarding viable investment opportunities for Baird’s Technology and Services team. He has served as Operating Partner for Baird since 2015. Prior to Baird, Owen served as President of Specialty Brands for ManpowerGroup, where he had multiple roles including CEO of Right Management, Jefferson Wells and Experis, as well as leader of ManpowerGroup’s global sales organization. Owen holds a bachelor’s degree from Marquette University, where he also serves on the board of trustees.
Principal, Baird Capital Partners
Tom Costello is a Principal on the Business Services team of Baird Capital Partners. Prior to joining Baird in 2007, Tom spent four years with Chicago Growth Partners, a private equity firm, where he sourced, evaluated and structured business service transactions in the middle market. Before that, he spent two years as an investment banking analyst at Lehman Brothers Inc. Tom received a BA in Economics from the University of Chicago and an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

Mark Hodges joined Baird Capital Partners as an Operating Partner with more than 20 years of experience in business process outsourcing (BPO). Mark is an acknowledged pioneer of BPO, and was responsible for a research paper which coined the term in 1989. Currently, Mark is the Founder and CEO of Hodges Advisory, LLC, a built-for-purpose advisory firm that counsels founders and their companies on high growth and liquidity alternatives. Prior to Hodges Advisory, Mark served as Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board for EquaTerra, Inc. the global leader in outsourcing and shared services advisory services. Prior to EquaTerra, he served as Managing Partner of Strategy, Corporate Development and BPO Practice for TPI, Inc. Before TPI, Mark was the Vice President of Strategy & Corporate Development at Exult, Inc. Prior to joining Exult, Mark was the Worldwide Director of Gartner’s Dataquest IT Services (ITO and BPO) Vendor Group, and before Gartner, Mr. Hodges served as the Chief Operating Officer of G2 Research, Inc. (G2R), where he spent 11 years before it sold to Gartner in January 1999. Mark received his bachelor’s degree in Political Economies of Industrial Societies (Economics and Political Science) from the University of California at Berkeley.
President & CEO, Ziosk
Austen Mulinder joined the Vitalyst board of directors in April 2013. He brings more than 25 years of experience in managing global sales, marketing and operations within the technology industry. Prior to his current role, he served as corporate vice president of Operator Channels at Microsoft and previously served as corporate vice president for the Communications Sector, where he led strategy, sales and marketing of Microsoft services and solutions to telecommunications, hosting, media and entertainment companies. Before joining Microsoft, he served for six years as president and CEO of Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc., a wholly owned Fujitsu company. During his tenure there, he led the company’s development into a market force in retail store solutions, attaining the preeminent position on the Gartner Magic Quadrant for POS providers.
Partner, Baird Capitol
Randy is a partner in Baird’s U.S. Private Equity team and focuses on investments for the Technology and Services sector. Prior to joining Baird Capital, Randy was Managing Director in Baird’s Equity Research department, where he received honors from Bloomberg, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, and others. Prior to joining Baird, he was a Senior Consultant at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) with the Financial Services and Aerospace & Defense groups. Randy holds an MBA with Honors from the University of Chicago and is a Finance Chair Scholar graduate of Bowling Green State University.
Interim Chief Executive Officer
Richard is a veteran executive with over 25 years of services industry experience. As interim CEO of Vitalyst, Richard is focused on leading both the day-to-day business operations, as well as continuing its legacy of outstanding client service and progressive growth. Richard also serves as an Operating Partner supporting Baird Capital’s Technology Services and Healthcare sectors. During the course of his career at GE, Richard held multiple roles across the company’s global footprint, including but not limited to, VP & GM U.S. & Canada Services at GE Healthcare, CEO of the Specialty Finance Group of GE Capital Global Banking in London, COO and CEO of GE Capital Global Banking in Southeast Asia, and CEO of GE Money Bank in Switzerland. Richard received his BA from Rutgers College and his MBA from Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
