Vitalyst recently completed the first in a series of Windows 8 Pulse surveys designed to gauge reactions and plans to migrate to Windows 8. More than 500 IT leaders and managers from US-based companies with 500 employees or more, across a range of industries, responded to the survey and a majority of the respondents (70%) were from companies with 2,500 or more employees.
Since we completed the survey in late September, we have had conversations with current clients about their plans for Windows 8, and have attended several of Microsoft’s New Era of Work Windows 8/Office launch events, which are being held in cities across the country (visit Microsoft’s site for a full schedule and details). Judging by the enthusiasm from clients and high turnout at these events, Windows 8 and this “new era of work” seem to be generating a good amount of attention, excitement and energy. Attendees are particularly interested in the Windows 8 devices Microsoft is showcasing — Surface tablets, convertible devices and other form factors.
